We recently partnered with local professionals in the community to hold an event titled “Navigating Parkinson’s at the Hospital” in Charlotte, NC – to focus on the importance of being prepared for a hospital stay as a person with Parkinson’s. Blake Tedder, MSW, is the Community Development Manager for the Parkinson’s Foundation in NC and he spoke on the Foundation’s Aware In Care Kits – which were designed to help people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) get the best care possible during a hospital stay. These kits are FREE and can be ordered online or requested by calling the Parkinson Foundation at: 1-800-4PD-INFO (473-4636)
We handed out a survey to those in attendance to get an idea of how many people experienced issues as a Parkinson’s patient in the hospital. We plan to share these results with local neurology and Movement Disorder offices and centers to see if some sort of protocol can be put into place. The more survey results we have – the better. If you have spent time in the hospital after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s – please complete this short survey to share your experience. No names will be shared when sharing information.
Thank you for your feedback!!
